- In your own words, what is the role of the AHRQ in evidence-based practice? In summary, the AHRQ facilitates nearly every step of the process from generating evidence to implementing it in practice across the United States. It is a key agency promoting evidence- based care. Two examples of what the AHRQ does is funding research which provides grants to support research focused on improving healthcare quality, safety, efficiency, and effectiveness
as well as training in that programs and fellowships focused on health services research and evidence-based practice. 3. Quality improvement and evidence-based practice seem to go hand in hand. Summarize the influence of evidence-based practice and quality and safety outcomes. Evidence-based practice and quality improvement are closely interlinked when it comes to improving healthcare outcomes. Clinical interventions that are proven to be effective and safe are identified and promoted in evidence-based practice. This directly improves quality and safety. Using evidence-based guidelines and protocols reduces medical errors and harmful variations in care. Citations Hopp, L., & Rittenmeyer, L. (2020). Introduction to Evidence Based Practice (2nd ed.).
