TWO YEARS MASTER PROGRAMMES (Evenings, Weekends, and Modular)

Masters in business administration (mba).

The GIMPA Masters in Business Administration (MBA) is a professional degree. The MBA programme is designed to provide a strong and advanced education in business management and also to equip participants with the skills and knowledge necessary for the attainment of a competitive edge in Business Administration. The programme is geared towards graduates with little to moderate professional working experience after their bachelors’ degrees or professional certificates. The focus is on developing managers with decision-making abilities. As such, there is much more emphasis on using the case study and other problem-solving tools. Unlike the EMBA, this programme allows for in-depth specializations as most entry to middle-level managers focus on a functional area in terms of their employment responsibilities. In the Department of Accounting and Finance, we offer the following specialisations: ● Finance ● Accounting and Taxation

  • A Bachelor’s Degree from an approved/recognized university with a second-class lower division minimum, plus two years of post-graduation professional experience.
  • A lower-class degree, then five years post-graduation professional experience plus additional postgraduate or professional certificate/education such as the GIMPA postgraduate or certificate in business administration. OR
  • Professional qualifications such as ACCA, ICA, ICSA, GIPS, CIB, plus three years post-qualification experience.
  • Applicants with degree classifications below second-class lower division and/or narrowly-focused professional qualifications should enrol in the GIMPA Diploma in Business Administration (DBA) programme at the Business School to enhance their chances of gaining admission.

Masters of Research in Business Administration (MRES)

The Master of Research in Business Administration (MRes) is a research-based degree that prepares graduates for academic careers in various functional areas of business at tertiary institutions and in the research departments of organizations. The programme emphasizes the development of skills in understanding theory, the research process and methodology. Graduates of the program are expected to make contributions to the advancement of knowledge of business practices through research, teaching and consulting. It is also designed for those interested in acquiring a doctoral degree in the future.
